Starting a Doggie Daycare
Don’t you just hate having to go to work in the morning, knowing you’ll be dog-less for 8 hours or more? I know I do. When I was in between jobs, sounds better than unemployed right ;-), I looked into starting a doggie daycare. Unfortunately for me, after weeks of research, I came to the conclusion that there just wasn’t any potential for this kind of pet business where I live. There are plenty of other countries though, where starting a doggie daycare can and will be quite profitable, not to mention fun. I’m thinking of countries like the US, Canada, UK, Australia,… For some reason they seem to be decades ahead of pet businesses in Belgium.
Doggie Daycare Franchises
Sure, people will pay you to play with their dogs all day Don’t forget it’s a real business though. You’ll need to do the same research you would have to do before starting any other type of business. If you want a hand with that, you can join one of the many doggie daycare franchises that are popping up. Pretty expensive, but they do come with several benefits: TrainingMarket researchMarketing helpProfit from an established brandFollow a proven systemHelp finding real estateEmployee trainingDedicated softwareAnd probably lots more. All the doggie daycare franchises seem to offer different services to their franchisees. So it’s really up to you to check out the franchises you’re interested in and compare them as best as you can. The biggest downside I can see with a franchise is the fee. Obviously, starting a doggie daycare involves some heavy investments. But I’ve seen fees ranging from $25.000 to $50.000! In other words…do your homework before joining a franchise.
Start Your Own Brand?
Maybe you’re not sure about making such a big investment? Or maybe you want to start your own brand with your own rules? Then it might be worth checking out the books below on starting a doggie daycare. I haven’t read them myself, but they come with a 100% money back guarantee, so there really is no risk involved. The reason I recommend them without having read them, is because of the time I wasted trying to figure everything out myself while I was unemployed. It took weeks, and even then I wasn’t 100% sure I had all the necessary and correct info. Just think how much time it would take you, working a full-time job and trying to give your dog the attention he deserves… Note: I do receive a commission if you buy any of these books through the links on my site. Unless you ask for a refund within 56 days. Here’s a little request though, if you buy one of the books, would you mind letting me know what you think? I don’t want to buy them yet, at the moment I have no use for them, but I don’t want to promote junk either. So please send me some feedback here to help other visitors out. Do-Doggy-Daycare This book on starting a doggie daycare is written by an Australian woman who started the first daycare in Brisbane. She’s had 4 years of experience, so I’ll go out on a limb and assume she knows what she’s talking about. You can see the table of contents here. E-books On How To Start Popular Pet Businesses The company is based in the US. Honestly, I’m not sure what to think about this website. It’s a bit confusing at first really. If you want more info on their products, you have to scroll down and click on the website link at the bottom right side. Going over the products they offer, I discovered the material from Ian Dunbar, which kind of won me over ;-) Oh, and besides the ebooks, they also offer training DVDs on starting your own pet business.
